A Dream Begins
 by Tania Cage

About the Poem:

"Dealing with not death is easy. This poem was inspired by a man who had passed away from AIDS and his partner who had a hard time accepting it. It is meant to say that we can let go, remember, accept, and continue on in life."

For all the things I did not see
and all the words I did not say
Many days in which I've passed,
how soon tomorrow slips away

Yesterday, now so far gone,
erasing the mistakes
Weeks to come with dusk and dawn,
each season as it wakes

I'll take each breath to remember,
the way I used to kiss you
over again and one more time,
to show how much I miss you

to touch your hand, you understand,
this world in which i'm in
I'll hold you close, just close your eyes
for here, a dream begins.
